Johana won first place at the World Latin Dance Cup in the Salsa Ladies Couples division, alongside Nadia Acevedo. Since opening her studio, Johana has dedicated her time to molding young dancers with strong work ethics and continues to perform along with her students all over the globe. She has also won several recognitions for her work as an instructor and choreographer.
Along with Johana, he has competed and performed all over the world. He has also won several competitions as a soloist. He currently teaches both social and performance level dance classes at Baila Conmigo, while also performing alongside Johana and their professional dance team.
Started dancing at the age of three. She started taking ballet, tap, jazz, and flamenco, and has been competing in national competitions since she was four. At the age of eight, she decided she wanted to learn folklore Colombian dancing and spent five years dancing with a Colombian folklore dance group before deciding to take up salsa lessons. Amy has been dancing with Baila Conmigo since 2012. She was a part of our famous Children/Juniors group and won first place in the World Latin Dance Cup with the group in 2012, 2013, and 2014. Amy has been a two time world champion at the World Latin Dance Cup in the Juniors Female Soloist division for the years of 2014 and 2015. She also had the privilege of joining the group on the Radio City Music Hall stage while competing on America's Got Talent. Since then she has been training with our Professional group and has traveled to places such as Los Angeles, Miami, Israel, Colombia, and Puerto Rico for her love of dance. At only 18 years old, she's accomplished many goals in her dance career and claims that teaching in our studio is yet another accomplishment.
Gisela "Gizzy" Sosa
At only 8, began taking lessons for a variety of rhythms such as Ballet, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Break Dance, and Mexican Folklore. While living in Canada at the age of 14, she joined a Hip-Hop/Latin Dance performance team called Rhythmic Fire, started taking Salsa On1 and Salsa Shines workshops, and also began teaching basic Salsa and Hip-Hop at a local community center. In 2008 she moved to New Jersey, and in 2010 she became a part of Baila Conmigo's Professional Competition/Performance team, where she learned Salsa Cali Style, and competed in various of World Salsa Championships.
Is an aspiring dancer/teacher whose humbling beginnings start in Jersey. After graduating high school, he joined a small local crew called L.I.T.M, where he was introduced to foundation styles like breaking, popping, house, locking, and hip hop. After training with his crew for over a year, he was brought to the NYC dance scene and decided that dance was the career for him. Fred has trained with the company, Urban Dance League, run by AntBoogie. He has also trained with Rhapsody James, completing the Motivating Excellence Program — Season 4. Fred is currently teaching, battling, auditioning and trying to lead by example to his students that with hard work, dedication, consistency, and PASSION, any dream is possible.
Deiner Ivan Carabali
Deiner started as a dancer at the age of 7 in school, participating in all cultural activities in the form of Folklore. He was part of neighborhood group where he grew up artistically until the age of 11. From this age, he began his career as a salsa dancer and joined the dance company, Swing Latino, founded by choreographer, Luis Eduardo AKA “El Mulato”. With this dance company and foundation, he has had many titles as choreographer and dancer: Solo Hombres Champion in 2010, Salsa World Champion 2011 chosen in the Q'viva program and the show’s Champion in 2012.
In 2013, actress and singer, Jennifer Lopez, chose him as her principal dancer for her American Music Awards performance, where he also served as a choreographer. JLo summoned him a second time as a dancer and choreographer for her performance at the AMAs in 2015. He is currently the Third Place Champion for World of Dance on NBC. Thanks to Salsa, his projection was great as an artist. By traveling the world representing Cali, Colombia, he has put its beautiful name and culture high.
Jonathan began dancing at the age of nine in Cali,Colombia at the Colombian Institute for Classical Ballet. Upon graduation, he joined Incolballet — Colombia's Premier Dance Company. Jonathan received a full scholarship to the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School at the American Ballet Theatre. He performed with Dances Patrelle in the Nutcracker and during their 2010 Spring Season. In May 2010, Jonathan performed with Avi Scher and Dancer at the Kennedy Center. Jonathan joined Les Ballets Grandiva in July 2010, where he performed and toured all around Japan. In December 2010 he was a guest artist with Alberta Ballet for the production of the Nutcracker in Canada. He joined Les Ballets Eloelle in 2012 where he perform in China, Australia, New Zealand and Malaysia. Jonathan is a American Ballet Theatre certified teacher and is also featured in the current American Dance Documentary: “First Position”.
